DOJ Building

2 Jul 2009 // Washington, D.C. - Yesterday in CREW v. Dep’t of Justice, CREW’s lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act seeking the interview Dick Cheney gave to the FBI as part of the investigation into the leak of Valerie Plame Wilson’s covert CIA identity, DOJ filed a supplemental memorandum in support of its claim that the interview and notes are exempt from disclosure in their entirety. The government’s filing includes a declaration of Lanny Breuer, Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division, purportedly supporting the claim that future White House officials will be unwilling to cooperative with a criminal investigation if Mr. Cheney’s interview is disclosed.
